Born out of the 2020 quarantine, Hand Turkey is a groove music band from Fort Collins Colorado. Now with a full three piece brass section, we’re ready to provide the front range with high energy, low volume groove music to spice up any event. Hand Turkey is funky. Hand Turkey is Dancing. Hand Turkey is a mix of songs by well known artists and lively originals.
The Rampart Street Stompers bring the sights and sounds of New Orleans to audiences of all ages with their “musical gumbo”-a blend of traditional jazz and blues from the 1920’s and 1930’s mixed with the rhythms and syncopations of the New Orleans brass band tradition. Inspired by the traditional jazz revival that began on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans in the early 2000’s, the Rampart Street Stompers draw on the greats of early jazz-Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, Duke Ellington, Jelly Roll Morton, and Bessie Smith just to name a few. Bandleader/sousaphone player Scott Johnson sets the tone with his syncopated “street style” tuba. Together, the Rampart Street Stompers share their joy of the hot, bluesy kind of jazz that you would here in the dancehalls of the French Quarter in the early 20th century-timeless music that sounds as good today is it did during it’s birth in the 1920’s and 1930’s.
Voodoo Lily, based in Boulder, Colorado, plays an eclectic mix of Delta Blues, New Orleans Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Latin and Swing. The band, formed in 2015, features Micah Parkin on vocals, Kevin Johnson on guitar, Bill Pontarelli on clarinet and vocals, Duane Webster on bass and vocals, and William Garrison on drums. And other great area musicians can frequently be spotted sitting in at local shows!
The band currently plays on the first Saturday of each month at the Hotel Boulderado’s License No. 1 bar and frequently at the St Julien Hotel & Spa. They are available for other venues, weddings and parties. (Direct booking inquiries through the ‘contact’ page.)
George is more than a soulful master. He is an icon. With nearly 40 years of performing, he has lived, played and sung through a remarkable period of musical history. His masterful playing and soulful rendition have broad appeal. George has opened for or performed with Ray Charles, Les McCann, George Duke, Frankie Avalon, Glen Yarbrough, Joe Russell (The Persuasions), Spyro Gyra, Billy Preston, Stan Kenton Orchestra, Hazel Miller, Gene Bass, Billy Tolles, JoJo Williams, Fred Fuller, Billy Rich (now with Taj Mahal), and performed for such celebrities as Johnny Mathis, Joan Van Ark, Charlton Heston, Mariette Hartley.
